Summary:: Electronic reproduction of a map series drawn by Cassini and published on 182 sheets during the years 1744-1760. The copy shown belongs to the Archives de l'Institute Géographique National and is here reproduced sheet by sheet. Includes Cassini's location map as well as a modern, automated location map. Accompanied by a third CD-ROM containing a fulll gazetteer and an automated map finder. Also accompanied by a brief instruction booklet.

The two principal CD-ROMS contain 183 unique image files in TIF format. Several program files alongside each image have extensions EXE and ICO; other files are Microsoft Windows standard types. The accompanying CD-ROM "Cassini-Localisation" is designed to work in tandem with either of the principle CD-ROMs and, if used, must be installed on hard disk.
