Description/Summary
- Summary:
- O Ta Hae Kiritiano (The Christian Flag) was a religious paper advocating for the Catholic mission; its main purpose was to answer inquiries and counter accusations made by Ka Hoku Loa, a local Protestant newspaper. Famous authors such as Kepelino and Kamakau wrote for this publication during its 1860 run. Articles by J.B. Kawelo also feature extensively in the paper. Foreign news, religious lessons and foreign affairs are regular topics. It is suspected that the newspaper was edited by Limaikaika (Rev. Richard Armstrong) for the Catholic Mission Press.
